Covid-19 Guidelines
All Riders
At this time all ride fees are to be paid at the office in the Main Building and not in the Arena. This way we can observe the Plus One Metre distancing rule as there is a screen in place. We now have a Card Machine in operation, which will be sanitized after each use. There is also a Hand Sanitizer located next to the office for your use.
You may wish to consider buying a course of lessons – for these it is preferable you pay the money directly to our Bank Account. Our Bank Details are:
Sort Code: 40-06-21
A/C No: 51698729
Account Name: Newham Riding School
Please ensure you put the rider’s name, day and time as your payment reference. E.g. John Tues 5.30
Non-Lead Rein Riders
If the rider is capable of riding without a leader they may still need assistance when mounting or dismounting. In addition to this the stirrup leathers may need adjustment. Due to Social Distancing the staff and volunteers are unable to help with this. Therefore, we would ask that a member of the rider’s household be willing to assist them – with guidance from the Instructor or another member of staff if needed. All riders and their supporter are to wear gloves at all times.
Please ensure you are wearing appropriate footwear when entering the Arena i.e. Boots or Trainers.
PLEASE NOTE – NO OPEN SHOES OR SANDALS.
Lead Rein Riders
All riders who need to be led MUST wear a Facemask and gloves whilst riding. Our staff and volunteers will also be wearing a Facemask whilst maintaining the Plus One Metre distancing rule. We would ask that a member of the same household assist with the mounting and dismounting. In addition to this the stirrup leathers may require slight adjustment. Guidance will be given by the Instructor or another member of staff whilst maintaining Social Distancing Guidelines. Some riders may also need somebody to walk alongside them. For this we would ask that a member of the same household be available to be a side-walker giving that support. Supporters are also requested to wear a Facemask and gloves.
Please ensure you are wearing appropriate footwear when entering the Arena i.e. Boots or Trainers.
PLEASE NOTE – NO OPEN SHOES OR SANDALS.
Pony Riders
At this time all pony ride fees are to be paid at the office in the Main Building. This way we can observe the Plus One Metre distancing rule as there is a screen in place. The cost is £1.50 per lap and you will be given numbered tickets for the laps you have purchased.
All riders MUST wear a Facemask and gloves whilst riding – regardless of age. Our staff and volunteers will also be wearing a Facemask and gloves whilst maintaining the Plus One Metre distancing rule.
Young riders [Aged below 10] will also need somebody to walk alongside them. For this we would ask that a member of the same household be available to be a side-walker giving that support. For young children under 5 the Supporter must stay in physical contact with the rider.
Supporters are also requested to wear a Facemask. Please ensure you are wearing appropriate footwear when entering the Arena i.e. Boots or Trainers.
PLEASE NOTE: NO OPEN SHOES OR SANDALS. NO SHORTS OR SKIRTS ie. All riders must wear full length bottoms
We would like to remind you that all photos and/or videos of the ride must be taken from OUTSIDE THE ARENA ONLY. At the end of the ride a photograph may be taken before dismounting.
If you do not have facemask or gloves we do have some available for you to purchase.
You may have as many laps as you wish but can only use 5 at one time. After you have ridden your first 5 laps you must dismount and go to the end of the queue to ride again. This will enable the queue to move more swiftly and gives you the opportunity to ride a different pony/horse.
If you would like to book a lesson please call 0207 473 4951 or email riding.school@aol.com if you would like further information.
Needless to say, should you or anyone in your household have any suspected Covid-19 symptoms please do not visit the Centre and please notify us so that we can follow Track and Trace procedures.
